Five original arcade cabinets in deep jewel colors, emerald, burgundy, navy, plum and forest green, standing in a row on a mossy stone path in a forest clearing beneath the arching roots of a great tree at dusk, warm gold light glowing from their blank marquees and screens of simple abstract shapes, hanging lanterns and fireflies in the deep emerald night.

The Vale Arcade

Eight cabinets under the Great Tree, all made right here in the Vale. Step in, pick one, and play.

The Keeper keeps a little arcade in a clearing under the Great Tree: an adventure, a climb, a hunt, a flight, a catch, a brawl, a card duel, and one dark descent for grown-ups. Every game is free, and playing never requires an account. Your progress and best scores save on your device, and when a run ends you can post the score to the Champion Board below, under your Vale name if you have one or a short arcade name you pick at the cabinet. Most cabinets hide a real shop coupon somewhere inside for players who look in the out-of-the-way places.

Pixel art marquee for Tales of the Vale: the Great Tree at dusk over a village green, lanterns lit, the Keeper on the path.

Tales of the Vale: The Game

The full adventure game. Gather the Golden Leaves, relight the Dusk Lanterns, and bonk the Great Tree.

Adventure · Keyboard, gamepad, touch

Psst: three coupon codes hide in this one.

Play the game

Pixel art marquee for Keeper's Climb: timber girders and ladders up the Great Tree, acorn kegs rolling, a grumpy owl glaring from the top.

Keeper's Climb

Climb the scaffolding, dodge the acorn kegs, and reach the lantern before the owl loses patience.

Climb · 5 levels · Keyboard and touch

Psst: a coupon code sleeps on a high ledge.

Play the game

Painterly marquee for Vale Trophy Hunt: a dark buck with a great antler rack in a lantern-lit meadow at dawn, a pale doe grazing behind it, a duck in flight, and the Great Tree hung with lanterns.

Vale Trophy Hunt

Five hunting grounds around the Great Tree. Tag trophy bucks with lantern darts, spare the protected does, and watch for the golden duck.

Hunting · 5 grounds · Mouse and touch

Psst: a 12-point buck on the far lane pays 825. Let the does walk.

Play the game

Pixel art marquee for Ember Flight: a small dragon flying the night treeline between hanging lantern gates, rooftops below.

Ember Flight

The counter dragon takes the night sky. Thread the lantern gates, ride the warm gusts, and reach the hoard.

Flying · 5 stages · One-button controls

Psst: a coupon code hides under a stone arch.

Play the game

Pixel art marquee for Acorn Catch: acorns falling from a laden oak into a woven basket, a squirrel watching from a branch.

Acorn Catch

Fill the winter store. Catch the falling acorns, dodge the pinecones, and mind the rotten ones.

Catching · 5 stages · Keyboard, mouse, and touch

Psst: one acorn in Stage 2 is not like the others.

Play the game

Painterly marquee for Vale Brawl: four Vale duelists face off in a lantern-lit hollow, the Keeper with a lantern staff, a thorn-hatted rogue with twin daggers, an antler-helmed duelist, and a hulking moss guardian.

Vale Brawl

Pick your duelist and brawl under the lanterns. Best of three rounds, and the winner faces a sharper rival.

Fighting · Best of 3 rounds · Keyboard and touch

Psst: Mossback’s floor slam shakes the whole ring. Jump it.

The Great Tree at dusk, its great door closed, lantern light along the path: the door Lanternfall asks you to open. 18+

Lanternfall

Something has gone wrong inside the Great Tree. Six waves of feral creatures in full 3D, two lantern weapons, and one long stand in the great hall. Adults only.

Shooter · 6 waves · Keyboard, mouse, and touch · Adults only

Psst: a coupon code hides in the dark down there.

Play the game

Card sleeves, empty cases and a brass lamp on a wooden table, warm lantern light over the Vale card table.

Lantern Clash

A first taste of the Verdant Vale TCG. Take up the Keeper’s deck and duel the Dusk Moth by lantern light.

Card duel · A TCG teaser · Mouse and touch

Psst: the full card game is still growing in the Vale.

Play the game

Psst. Coupon codes hide throughout the Vale, tucked into the games themselves. Find one and take 5% off your order. Three sleep in Tales of the Vale: The Game, and most other cabinets on this row keep one apiece. Lantern Clash keeps none: its table is a teaser, not a treasure chest.

New here? Start with Tales of the Vale: The Game. Tilda keeps a book nook by the village green too, and the real shelves she loves are on the Verdant Vale book shelf.

The Vale Arcade

The Champion Board

Playing never asks for an account. Members post under their Vale name, and guests pick a short arcade name right at the cabinet. Friendly runs, honest scores, and a little gold leaf for the winners.
