The Vale Arcade
Vale Trophy Hunt
Five hunting grounds around the Great Tree. Free to play, no purchase necessary.
The herd drifts through the lands around the Great Tree at first light and last: Lantern Meadows, the Border Woods, the River Bottoms, the Ridge Fields, and the Marsh Edge. Tag trophy bucks with lantern darts. The bigger the rack and the farther the shot, the richer the score. Does are protected: tag one and the herd scatters, and that ground's hunt is over. Rabbits and ducks are bonus critters, and one duck on the marsh is golden.
Keyboard: move with the mouse or touch, click to shoot, R reloads, P pauses. Part of the Vale Arcade at Verdant Vale.
The grounds and the animals are original paintings made in-house for this cabinet.
How to play
- Aim and shoot: move with the mouse or a touch, click or tap to loose a lantern dart. Three darts to a load; reload with R, the reload button, or automatically when the load runs empty.
- Scoring: a buck scores by its rack, from a 4-point at 100 up to a 12-point at 550, and the farther lane pays more: the far lane multiplies the rack by 1.5, the mid lane by 1.25. Rabbits pay 150 and ducks 250, each times the same distance bonus, and the golden duck pays 400.
- The doe rule: does are protected. Tag one and the herd scatters, and the hunt on that ground ends on the spot. Let them pass.
- Five grounds: clear the target on each ground to move on, from the calm of Lantern Meadows to the dusk of the Marsh Edge, where the herd moves fastest.
- The Trophy Wall: finish all five grounds and your hunt is tallied on the Trophy Wall, with a grade for the whole day.
- Pause: P, or the pause button on the cabinet.
Playing never needs an account. When the circuit ends, you can post the hunt to the Vale Arcade board from the Trophy Wall; the wall itself lasts for this sitting only.
